So, we didn't plant pumpkins last year, but somehow a pumpkin seed decided to find it's way to our front yard and has flourished with very little lovin'! It wasn't tended at all, and it was only barely watered, as we decided that we didn't want to have a minute yard and we wanted flowers instead. So Jery decided to only water the bare minimum. And yet, we have two nice sized pumpkins growing, and another small one started recently.
Now we know that for pumpkins to grow, you gotta ignore them! LOL!

Color Sunday on the Mesa
We went to Powderhorn for Color Sunday and rode the lift up to the top. It was so beautiful and very relaxing. It was a little chilly coming down and a little long...the kids got a bit bored on the way down. But it was so very beautiful and we had a happy day!
My daughter and her chewed up peanuts!
Ah, they love each other. They really do!

Fall pics

We took some family pictures for our Christmas cards this year a couple weeks ago. I tell ya what, taking family photos of your own family is exhausting!!!!!! I had the camera on the tripod, so I would set the timer, run about 50 feet to join the picture and then try to beat my kids back to the camera on the tripod...they wanted to see the pictures, I wanted to get there first so they didn't knock down my camera! It was exhausting! I got a decent picture of all four of us, which will be our cards this year, but these two are just cute of my little precious babies!!! :)Sunday, October 19, 2008
Pumpkin Patch 2008
We went to the pumpkin patch today. The two pumpkins the kids have already are from the little pumpkin patch at the Rowland Farm that BayLea got on her field trip there. We went to the 'fancy' patch out on K Road. We've been there the last two years for sure, and maybe the last three years. They've got it all decorated with lots and lots of pumpkins, little scarecrows and cute fall/halloween/pumpkin signs, and there is a corn maze.
Just after we got there, they both had picked out a pumpkin right on the edge of the patch. Practically the first one they came across.
Then they just started collecting pumpkins. I think the above picture is funny with all those pumpkins in there. They didn't get that many of course. Just the big one under Breccan's arms and the one in the far right corner.
They had a little place set up for pictures that a lady from a church put together to take pictures of her kids from Sunday school. I took advantage of that little area.

We dared to enter the corn maze. The kids had a blast. It was fun this year that both of them could run through it and have a blast. Last year Breccan was just a little young to go running around in there.

I totally love this picture of BayLea. She had peeked around the corner of that stalk, and I wanted her to do it again. This is as close as she could come up with, but I love it!
And this is a typical Breccan face. He was being 'scary'.
And off they go!
Breccan found this ear of corn, peeled it, and tried to take a bite out of it! Yuck!
And the last picture. We had a great time.

BayLea's field trip with pre-k to the Rowland Farm

BayLea's class went on a field trip to the Rowland Farm. They had so much fun. So did I. I took the day off from work to go with her. That thrilled her so much! It was worth writing lesson plans for a day just to see her face! I drove BayLea and her friend, Gracie. At the farm, they saw llamas, goats, cows, and a donkey. They got to climb up a huge hay stack. They got to pick out a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, hear a story and eat a snack. BayLea is loving school.Friday, October 17, 2008
COLD weekend getaway to Georgetown and Denver
We headed to Denver the other weekend for a Broncos game. Of course, it decided to get cold and wet for that trip! We went to Georgetown and spent Friday night there. The next morning we got in the pool. The water was really warm...nice surprise for an indoor pool. They aren't normally very warm.

I am always on a quest to get the perfect jumping picture! These were both TERRIBLY over-exposed, and so when I darkened them in Photoshop, Breccan's turned a really funky color. I tried to fix it, to no avail. I'm wondering if the sun didn't come out about the time he jumped and that's why there's such a different color.
My kids are fish.

This shot I thought I'd try for a Christmas card picture. Not happening!
So Saturday morning I got up and got online on my computer to check the time to get on the train. I made the reservations for 12:45, thinking it was 12:45 from Georgetown. It wasn't. It was 12:45 from Silver Plume. Good thing I checked. We had to drive back to Silver Plume, which was only about 7 minutes or so. When we got to Silver Plum, we needed to find a place to eat and there's only three places. We settled on The Tea Room and it turned out to be a pretty good meal. The flowers above, and this pic of BayLea and I are taken there.
We had a great time, cold and all!
