More of my Little Butterfly's Last day of pre-k
At the pre-k celebration, they read the Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. It was read to signify the changes that the kids have gone through and the feeling by the teachers that they are releases their 'butterflies' to go on to the next adventure in their life. It was great. My girl is beautiful!
They played their recorders...Hot Cross Buns. Then they got to take their recorder home.
BayLea with her certificate.
We got her flowers to give to her at the end. She was THRILLED with them. She went all over telling anyone who would listen that her daddy had gotten her flowers.

Harley Poker Run
Mom and dad went on a Harley poker run. I think that sounds like a lot of fun ... that is if you weren't frightened of big motorcycles!!! Ha! Mom and dad fit in just fine with all the Harley Dudes...minus the tatoos!
The kids thought it was kind of cool, but they were a litte unsure of how Mimi and Pa looked!
BayLea took this one of Mimi!
Where ya goin', Pa?

Pre-K Park Play
BayLea's preschool spent the last day at the Rocket Park. She had so much fun! As usual, she played with everyone (girls anyway...didn't see her play with the boys this time, although, the boys are the thing at preschool!).
They had a bump and jump, tents, and a parachute for the kids to play with and in.
This is Isabel, BayLea's closest friend.
I love all the 'tent' pictures. BayLea's face says it all. Plus Sawyer's funny faces are hilarious!
Breccan had a blast with this little boy, Connor. I'm going to call today to see about getting Breccan on the waiting list for next year's morning class.
This slide was hot...this rocket has been here since before I was born, probably, and that's a long time ago! It's all metal!
BayLea and Miss Brandi...
Miss Joy...
and Miss Brittani. She had AWESOME teachers!

Putting in a Garden
We began a garden the other day...well, we really shouldn't say 'we' should we? Since I sat on the deck and drank a beer and read my book! But hey, WE put in a garden the other day. Aren't they cute? I think that the kids weren't too much help really...mostly they were in the way. But Daddy, being wonder Daddy, did a pretty good job of having patience with them!
And the puppy spent all day outside, running around...she was exhausted when we came in. She ignored everyone and slept, using BayLea's black shoe as a pillow!

Chicken Tetrazzini
I made this yesterday and it was really yummy. You know you have a winner when your hubby says "mmmm..." after his first bite and especially when he never cares if I make chicken or not! LOL
This recipe was kind of blended from two recipes...one out of Simply Delicious cookbook of mine and Giada De Laurentis' recipe off the Food Network.
Here's what I did...
4 tbsp. butter
oil
chicken
salt
pepper
1 lb mushrooms
1/2 large onion (I could have used mored)
5 cloves garlic, minced (Could have used more)
1/4 tsp crushed, dried thyme
1 tbsp sherry
1/3 cup flour (maybe a little more)
1 cup milk
2 cups heavy cream
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
linguine
1 cup parmesan cheese
Cut chicken into bite size pieces, salt and pepper them. Brown chicken in one tablespoon butter and one tablespoon oil. In same pan, melt another tablespoon of butter and saute mushrooms until soft and most liquid has evaporated. Add onions, garlic, thyme and continue to saute. Add sherry (one of the recipes called for 1/2 cup dry white wine, which I didn't have and didn't use), cream, milk and most of the chicken broth. The left over broth I added my flour to, and stirred well. I added that to the sause mixture. Add more pepper and salt to taste, and simmer, stirring often, until thickened.
Prepare pasta. When pasta is cooked, put it on the bottom of a sprayed pan (13x9 or 9x9...which is what I used). Pour sauce over and top with parm cheese.
Heat in the oven at 350 for about 25 minutes.
Tasty!
