Father's Day

These are a little behind! Sorry about that!

Daddy was barely awake here! The kids were so excited to have him open the presents. As I was wrapping them, Breccan would head upstairs to tell him what he was getting. It was hilarious! And the tool things he got were sooooo exciting to Breccan. He loves tools.

Jery worked on the deck during the morning...building some shade for us!

Later in the day, Mimi and Pa and all the kids came over for brats and beans. Nice day.

My dad told me that all he wanted for any gifts from now on was bullets. Which I thought was hilarious because he doesn't hunt, and he rarely shoots his guns. I'll bet it has been three or four years since he shot them. I guess it frustrates him that they're they're taxing the bullets so much and they've become so expensive, that he wants them. Anyway, I found this funny. So Josh and I came up with all kinds of bullet things to give him that wasn't actually bullets. So he got the Steve McQueen movie called Bullet, he got a book called One More Bullet (or something like that) and he got the Bullet Blender. And a bullet cake, which was really ugly (I'll be more choosy next time I have a cake made).

I think this picture is hilarious of 13 year old Ethan sitting on Pa's lap. Ethan is almost as big as Pa!

Country Jam 2009

We always enjoy Country Jam. Jery and I went Thursday and Saturday, and on Sunday we took the kids.

One of Jery's friends, Matt, gave us tickets to the jam, plus he gave us tickets to sit on stage with this lady, Heidi Newfield, and for Neil McCoy. It was really hot for Heidi, and the kids weren't real thrilled with being up there!

The entertainment for the kids...they loved the bouncy trampoline things. BayLea went twice and Breccan only once. Breccan was too leery at first and didn't want to do it with BayLea the first time. Then he got brave. He even did flips up there. And of course, BayLea, who has no fear, was spinning up a storm.

Then they tried the climbing wall. BayLea made it almost to the top. Breccan worked pretty hard and had a great time trying!

The Sunday of Country Jam has become Military Appreciation Day, and the Navy Seals jump into the grounds. It's very cool to see.

Time to cool down again!

And now we're at our seats ready for Blake Shelton, who was very good!

This is the teeny tiny cloud that gave us a little relief from the sun for about 2 minutes. Blake Shelton was thrilled with that cloud cuz he kept saying it was "hotter than balls" (whatever that means).

I like this picture.

Swim Lessons for Breccan

It's official...Breccan is a fish! He loves to swim and he's pretty darned good at it. He loves to go under water...and always has. I remember during his last set of lessons about a year ago, all the kids were about 18 months (the class was 18 months to 3 years and Breccan was 2 1/2) and Breccan was so far advanced from them. He just kept plopping himself under the water and trying to swim away from me. He'd say "I'm going under now" and BAM, he was pushing off and away from me. I'm glad he loves to swim (mommy doesn't although I can).

Practicing jumping off the edge of the pool...the goal is to get their faces wet. NOT a problem for Breccan. He jumps off to the side every time because Miss Susan, his teacher, has her arms out to catch him and he doesn't want her to do that.

These are BayLea as she watched Breccan's lessons. She was dressed for dance because we signed her up for dance workshop this summer. She'll do a little tap, a little jazz, a little ballet, and some tumbling, supposedly.
