He's such a doofus sometimes...

Sometimes my dad is just so goofy. We had been sitting outside visiting for most of the afternoon. It was on the chilly side (we've had a kind of chilly spring so far). We all came in because Jery and I decided we'd get Breccan ready to go home. I had forgotten my book and when I walked outside, this was the view I got. This checked thing is a pocket that my mom made for my dad's feet. It matches a blanket. It's kind of a quillow without the pocket sewn in. I haven't a clue as to how it got outside, but it probably was one of my kids. I guess my dad got cold and decided to put it on his head. And then he fell asleep. I grabbed the camera and got this picture, then went around to get one from the front...and got this! He had put it all the way over his head. He looks so funny sitting here with a fleece bag over his head asleep!
Then he woke up and tried to convince me not to take pictures, but you know me! I wonder if he knew I'd put it on my blog!???

Okay, so in his defense, he did play music in Meeker last night and didn't get home until 4:00 a.m. So he was tired.

Ballet Recital

BayLea's recital was beautiful...and she looked stunning up there! She did so well. But boy was it a long recital to sit through to see a 60 second dance by your daughter! I'm so glad she's in dance, and I hope that she'll continue with it. All of these pictures were actually taken at the dress rehearsal because I'd have "been evicted from the recital and banned from the studio, as well as my dancer" if I'd taken any during the performance. However, there were people taking pictures during the performances and I didn't see them get carried out by the police force or anything. However, I'm kind of glad that I didn't worry about taking pictures during the dance, and I could just sit and enjoy her dancing rather than worrying about pictures!

Dairy Queen and the Dentist

One day the kids' daycare was going to Dairy Queen. I just assumed it would be in the morning because that's when they usually take their field trips. I picked up the kids after they ate lunch and they had not gone yet. So we took a trip there. The kids each had a Dilly Bar instead of the usual cup of icecream with sprinkles. Dilly Bars always make me think of when I was a kid. My mom and dad would get us out of bed every once in a while and we would go to Dairy Queen. At that time, the only Dairy Queen was the one on North Avenue so it was a little drive. We would get Dilly Bars and sit outside and look at the motorcycles. The Dairy Queen then didn't have indoor seating. So I was excited that my kids finally tried my childhood favorite!

Aren't they cute? They were very good. When they are good, they are very very good and when they are bad they are "horrid"!!! You know, like the nursery rhyme.
Breccan loves bandaids. The one above was when he had a belly ache. He wanted a bandaid and he put it on his belly. The pic below was after he had a little fall and binged his nose a little.

BayLea's first dentist visit. The dental hygenist was amazed that I was taking pictures. I guess not many parents do that. But, they haven't come across me yet, I guess. I have billions of pictures of my kids doing everything under the sun!

She wasn't really excited to go, but she did really well. She got to pick out of the treasure chest afterwards and picked out a kite. Being the awesome parents we are, we haven't used it yet!
Dr. Blehm is very good. He's quiet spoken and very gentle. I think BayLea will grow to like him.

Morning at Kidzplex

One morning BayLea says, "I have an idea mommy, let's go to Kidsplex." I thought that was a FABULOUS idea. At Kidsplex we're out of the weather, which usually these days is chilly, AND mommy can read while the kids play! Yep, my kind of morning!
BayLea will always smile at me when I want to take her picture...Breccan however, doesn't. This picture below was taken before he really realized I was taking the picture...

...and then he hid from me everytime I pointed the camera at him...
And hid...
and hid. He is so TWO right now!!! We really did have a nice morning though. They played really well with each other for most of the morning. I was talking with the owner and telling him how proud I was of them for playing so well together, when all of a sudden I hear this piercing scream. And the owner says, "I think that's your kids.". And it was. They bit each other. BayLea had teeth marks and Breccan had bruises. Oh, sibling love...

Hanging out with Ethan and Leah

These pictures are all just a modge podge of days from the last few weeks. I don't like uploading images from my point and shoot for some reason. it just seems like there's a couple extra steps and I always hate the way the images look if they've been taken indoors. So anyway...here's a glimpse into our lives these past few weeks. Mimi holding her little boy Ethan Robert. Ethan is growing up so fast...size 13 shoes already and he's not even 13 years old!
Here's dad's hamburger before he took a bite....
And yep, he can get it in his mouth...

Uncle and Ethan decided to shoot some hoops. I think Uncle won, although Ethan did pretty darned good.
We're going to make a cookbook for Leah of all the recipes she makes while she's here. So far we've made some seriously ooey, gooey, yummy brownies...
Some very delicious potatoes (some people call them Funeral Potatoes, but I don't like than name. My recipe says Delicious Potatoes. Totally unhealthy and fattening, and oh, so good!
We also made a strawberry spinach salad. Leah though they were okay, but not something she loved, so she and BayLea made a face for this picture!

Regardless of what they thought of the salad (Ethan HATED it), the rest of us loved it and there wasn't any left when dinner was over!

JUCO World Series

So this was the kids' first JUCO game. Arizona played Kansas. Arizona won...just took over in the 7th or 8th inning. For days afterward BayLea would out of the blue say "Arizona is winning?"

I thought a snowcone would help keep them occupied for part of the game and boy, did it! I had it all over me, down my legs and on my feet. I couldn't hardly even get a bite as fast as they were gobbling it!

I'm kind of behind...these next few posts will be from my point and shoot camera...

This is our little mini garden...we planted in pots some cucumbers and tomatoes and then transplanted into these barrels. We planted 4 plants, two of each, although one of the cucumber plants has since died. The kids have enjoyed watching them grow. The plants are quite big now. Can't wait to get some fresh veggies from them! And BayLea loves tomatoes and cucumbers! Breccan isn't too big on them, especially the tomatoes!

My beautiful ballerina!

Oh my gosh, isn't she stunning? I'm not sure why she gets so serious when I want to take more formal shots of her, but even so, she's beautiful. I think she has a real talent for the ballet stuff...she's got beautiful long "lines" (oooh, so technical!) and she is pretty graceful...at least as much as a 4 year old can be! Her recital is this weekend, and she's got her outfit. She has to wear some make up...blush and lipgloss, so we tried it out today. I'm just so proud of her. She's such a beautiful special girl.
The child can stand on her tip top toes...although Ms. Krystal told her not to as it may hurt her in the long run without proper training and shoes. She usually doesn't anymore, but I obviously caught her for a second up on her toes!
