This year BayLea is taking a workshop dance class. She will learn some ballet, some jazz, and some tap.
This was a hard new step for her to learn!
Breccan got his uniform (is it spelled 'gee'?).
Sorry it's sideways again! I CANNOT seem to remember that it doesn't work this way. But it was the best video I got of the day, and so ya'll have to tilt your head! LOL
This next one is my favorite picture (it's terrible quality-wise...shot through the window). But he was doing so well on this!
Here he is getting his belt...we're going to take a break from karate until t-ball is over. Then we'll put him back in. He likes the kicking part, but some of the other stuff, like the concentration game they play, he's not as into. He'll get it though!
He just ate ONE piece of chocolate. Geez, kid!!!
Then we went downtown to the Farmer's Market. The kids love this.

BayLea's first day at kindergarten!
BayLea started school today at LOM. She rode to school with me. As we drove up to the school, I began to tear up! I never thought I'd be a crier when my kids started school but by the time that school started, I had pulled myself together. I'm happy for her and her new journey in life. She's going to do well, I think!
Here she is in her new school clothes!
This is at the end of the day. Before the kids could leave the room, they had to point out a parent who was there for them. BayLea was telling Mrs. Bergen that her mom was there, and Randee was saying "Oh, the one with the camera???" Yep, I took 30 pictures this morning, just of going into the classroom and coming out! I have a problem...
***added later*** I got on facebook later this day, and Mrs. Bergen had written on her wall: I'm going to be the most photographed kindergarten teacher ever because I have BayLea in my class this year and her parents have already taken 1000 pictures!
Ha! That's about the truth!
And in front of the LOM sign.

Meet the Teacher Night
BayLea got to meet her teacher the other night. She's going to Lincoln O.M. Elementary this year for kindergarten. I made this decision because I want to be somewhat involved in her first year of school and when you're a teacher, you don't get to take your kids to their first day of school, or pick them up from their first day because you have your own classroom with kiddos who are having their first day as well. So I decided to bring to her LOM partly for that reason. I'm also thrilled that Randee Bergen is her teacher. She is a fantastic writing teacher and I think BayLea will thrive in that type of classroom! My plan is that next year, BayLea will move back to her home school, Wingate. When Breccan starts kindergarten, my plan will be the same...with me at my school, and then back to his home school.
Jery took these pictures as I was not able to attend with her at the Meet the Teacher night. I was having the pleasure of having a root canal done! Yuck. But the good thing is, is that I don't have 900 pictures to edit from this event, because Jery only took four. If I had been there I guarantee, I'd still be editing them! LOL
And just a slight brag on my friend, Randee Bergen...

Breccan's in T-Ball!
This fall Breccan gets his shot at t-ball! We decided not to put BayLea in this fall and just let it be about Breccan. I think she's okay with that...at first she was a little bugged, but she's gotten through it. I don't think t-ball/baseball will totally be her thing...but Breccan? I think it's his deal. He had so much fun yesterday. His face showed pure joy most of the time! He loves to bat and run the bases!
We got there early for once...that has NEVER happened before...so BayLea and Breccan hit the ball and ran the bases. BayLea loves to give tips to Breccan on how to do it correctly. He doesn't love that quite as much as she does!
"I'm number three, Mom!" I can't believe he calls me "mom" all the time...what happened to "mama"??????
When he was in the field waiting to field a ball, he would get very frustrated if the kids weren't hitting the ball fast enough. He'd holler out "Come ON, someone hit the ball!" He wanted to get all the balls hit too, and was a little irritated if someone else got it!
Check out his face!
Throwing to first!
Again, look at the face in these!
They were supposed to take turns hitting...so like Breccan was supposed to hit, run the bases, and when he got home, he was supposed to go into the outfield. But Breccan is a master at getting to do what he wants, and he'd just grab a bat and stand there and hit it again. He did that at swimming lessons too when they were jumping off the diving board...he'd just jump off and then go to the front of the line to do it again.
Don't forget to step on home plate!
The bat is hitting the ball in this picture!
Practice is over and he's upset because he wanted to hit the ball again. He hit more than anyone else, but he didn't like the fact that he had to go back out into the field and then didn't get back up to bat!!! I think this is something he's going to love!
